Reading Interventions
What I have learned in my journey is that one size does not fit all when it comes to reading programs for dyslexia. Interventions that have been proven to work are rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach. In second grade I started the Wilson Reading Program and made progress until the Pandemic hit and closed schools all around the country. My school was quick to turn to online learning, but I found it difficult to learn that way and my reading tutoring stopped due to social distancing. I lost all my reading gains in six months. I completed another reading program after fourth grade where I made tremendous progress and I have been working in different programs since, but I still am not a grade level reader. I do not plan on giving up, nor should you!

Online Intervention Options
I do not endorse any of the programs below, but they are ones that helped me with reading gains and other academic skill gaps beyond one-on-one tutoring. Remediation for dyslexia is often very expensive and I understand that it is not always in everyone's financial reach. I tried choosing ones that are either based on the Orton-Gillingham Approach or have proven reading gains with consistent use, but are less expensive than in-person one-on-one tutoring. I wish all schools, public and private, provided structured reading interventions grounded in the Science of Reading to all elementary children in need.

MobyMax is a comprehensive, research-tested online educational platform designed for kindergarten through eighth-grade students that focuses on identifying and closing missing learning gaps.
